The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 packs the capability of full-size studio cameras into a compact, portable body. It relies on the dynamic range and colour science of digital film cameras to cope with demanding lighting and deliver cinematic-looking pictures. With a maximum ISO of 25,600, the sensor remains usable in very low light, including scenes under moonlight.

Advanced operation covers tally, camera control, a built-in colour corrector, and Blackmagic RAW recording to USB disks on the expansion ports. Supported focus and zoom control systems work with compatible lenses. The camera control panel adjusts selected settings, focus, iris, and zoom on supported lenses, colour correction, tally, and record start/stop to external media via the USB expansion port; Camera Control REST API over USB Ethernet enables external HTTP control with REST clients such as Postman. The colour corrector uses DaVinci YRGB; talkback and tally are available in software. Network management and updates list Mac 13.0 Ventura, Mac 14.0 Sonoma, or later. Optional accessories include Blackmagic Focus Demand, Blackmagic Zoom Demand, ATEM Mini switchers, and ATEM Television Studio HD and HD Pro switchers.
