SDI to audio converter 1080p60 - Blackmagic Design BLM-CONVMCSAUD

The Blackmagic Design BLM-CONVMCSAUD extracts embedded audio from any SDI source using SD and HD formats up to 1080p 60. Audio is made available through ¼″ connectors as 4-channel balanced analogue audio or 8-channel balanced AES/EBU audio, allowing connection to mixers, analogue decks, audio monitors and other equipment. With support up to 3G-SDI, the converter provides an alternative to the Ultra HD model when that model’s additional cost is not required.

The main video input accepts 1 SD, HD or 3G-SDI signal, while an ALT SDI input automatically takes over if the main input fails. There is 1 SDI loop output. The unit automatically detects SD, HD and 3G-SDI signals, provides reclocking and selects automatically between these formats. SDI inputs are detected between standard definition, high definition and level B 3G-SDI rates.

SD formats include 720 × 486i 59.94 NTSC and 720 × 576i 50 PAL. HD formats are 720p 50, 720p 59.94, 720p 60, 1080p 23.98, 1080p 24, 1080p 25, 1080p 29.97, 1080p 30, 1080p 50, 1080p 59.94, 1080p 60, 1080PsF 23.98, 1080PsF 24, 1080PsF 25, 1080PsF 29.97, 1080PsF 30, 1080i 50, 1080i 59.94 and 1080i 60. Supported 2K formats are 2K DCI 23.98p, 2K DCI 24p, 2K DCI 25p, 2K DCI 23.98PsF, 2K DCI 24PsF and 2K DCI 25PsF.

SDI compliance covers SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 296M, SMPTE 372M, SMPTE 424M level B, SMPTE 425M level B, ITU-R BT.656 and ITU-R BT.601. SDI video sampling is 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, colour precision is 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, and the available colour spaces are YUV and RGB. SDI audio uses the television standard sample rate of 48 kHz at 24 bit.

Updates and configuration use the high-speed USB 2.0 port, with transfer rates up to 480 Mb/s. Mac and Windows software can be upgraded via USB, while internal software is upgraded through the included updater application. Supported systems are macOS 10.15 Catalina, macOS 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 64-bit. Settings can be controlled using mini switches or USB software.

Power comes from an included +12 V universal power supply with international socket adapters for most countries; the chassis also provides a cable tie point. Power consumption is 5.52 W and the operating voltage range is 12–15 V DC. Operating temperature is 0 to 40 °C, storage temperature is −20 to 45 °C, and relative humidity is 0 to 90% non-condensing. Dimensions are 114.83 × 92.27 × 23 mm and weight is 0.215 kg. The package includes the 12 V universal power supply with international adapters.
