Converter Mini UpDownCross HD SDI/HDMI - Blackmagic Design BLM-CONVMUDCSTD/HD

The Blackmagic Design BLM-CONVMUDCSTD/HD converts any SD or HD video format into another SD or HD format, with compatibility up to 1080p60. It combines SDI and HDMI inputs and outputs with a reference input for built-in re-synchronisation. Teranex conversion algorithms handle format changes with high quality, while automatic audio delay keeps audio and video synchronised. Universal power with international adapters is included.

Connections include 1 SD, HD or 3G-SDI input and 1 external reference input, plus 1 HDMI input with a type A connector. SDI outputs consist of 1 loop out and 2 outputs; the HDMI type A output supports the monitor’s EDID. Available SDI rates are 270 Mb, 1.5 G and 3 G. The reference input accepts Black Burst and Tri-Sync for SD and HD. Automatic detection recognises high-definition or standard-definition SDI inputs, and the unit provides reclocking. Updates and configuration are performed via USB.

SD standards are 525i 59.94 NTSC and 625i 50 PAL. HD standards include 720p 50, 720p 59.94, 720p 60, 1080p 23.98, 1080p 24, 1080p 25, 1080p 29.97, 1080p 30, 1080p 50, 1080p 59.94, 1080p 60, 1080PsF 23.98, 1080PsF 24, 1080PsF 25, 1080PsF 29.97, 1080PsF 30, 1080i 50, 1080i 59.94 and 1080i 60. HDMI inputs accept 720p 50, 720p 59.94, 720p 60, 1080p 23.98, 1080p 24, 1080p 25, 1080p 29.97, 1080p 30, 1080p 50, 1080p 59.94, 1080p 60, 1080i 50, 1080i 59.94 and 1080i 60.

SDI compliance includes SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 296M, SMPTE 372M, SMPTE 424M level B, SMPTE 425M level B, ITU-R BT.656 and ITU-R BT.601. SDI inputs automatically detect standard definition, high definition and level B 3G-SDI. Supported metadata includes Time Code and closed captioning. SDI video sampling and colour precision are 4:2:2, the colour space is YUV, and audio sampling follows the television standard of 48 kHz and 24 bit. The unit automatically selects SD, HD or 3G-SDI.

Video conversion changes any SD or HD input to 720p 50, 720p 59.94, 720p 60, 1080p 23.98, 1080p 24, 1080p 25, 1080p 29.97, 1080p 30, 1080p 50, 1080p 59.94, 1080p 60, 1080i 50, 1080i 59.94 or 1080i 60. Computer scaling converts DVI resolutions of 640 × 480p 60, 800 × 600p 60 and 1024 × 768p 60 to 525i 59.94, 625i 50, 720p 50, 720p 59.94, 720p 60, 1080p 23.98, 1080p 24, 1080p 25, 1080p 29.97, 1080p 30, 1080p 50, 1080p 59.94, 1080p 60, 1080i 50, 1080i 59.94 and 1080i 60.

Internal software is upgraded through the included updater application. Supported systems are macOS 10.15 Catalina, macOS 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 64-bit. Power is supplied by a +12 V universal power supply with international socket adapters for most countries. Consumption is 5 W, and the operating voltage range is 6 to 36 V DC. Operating temperature is 0–40 °C, storage temperature is −20–45 °C, and relative humidity is 0–90% non-condensing. Dimensions are 135 × 24 × 92 mm and weight is 0.247 kg.
