Thunderbolt 4 playback interface with 12G-SDI output - Blackmagic Design BLM-BDLKULSDZMINMON12G

Blackmagic Design UltraStudio Mini Monitor 12G is a video playback interface that takes a digital stream from a computer over Thunderbolt 4 and converts it to SDI output for broadcast monitors, switchers, video matrix switchers, live production systems or external graphics devices. It turns the computer into a dependable, low-latency video source for professional SD, HD and Ultra HD workflows up to 2160p 60. The unit is compact, powered directly by the computer and intended for editors, colourists, broadcast graphics artists and operators who need stable, low-latency output to professional monitors, switchers or live production systems.

Thunderbolt 4 provides the bandwidth required for 10-bit signals, advanced 4:2:2:4 and 4:4:4:4 formats, and real-time conversion of alpha-channel content to the 12G-SDI outputs. The two SDI outputs can be used as fill and key: the alpha channel is converted automatically into a key signal, allowing a laptop to act as a broadcast graphics source for titling, overlays and real-time graphics.

UltraStudio Mini Monitor 12G uses the same DeckLink API and Desktop Video drivers as Blackmagic cards, supporting DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Media Composer, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Fusion, OBS and many other professional editing, graphics and live-streaming applications. It handles SD at 525i 59.94 and 625i 50, HD up to 1080p 60 and Ultra HD up to 2160p 60, including Level A/B signals for 3G-SDI. ProRes, DNxHD and 10-bit uncompressed codecs are supported, and Blackmagic Media Express is supplied for playback and disk performance testing.

Application areas include broadcast, live streaming, multi-camera production, post-production, motion graphics, live graphics, editing, colour grading and professional monitoring. Listed user benefits include output up to 2160p 60, 10-bit and 4:2:2:4 / 4:4:4:4 support, dual 12G-SDI outputs configurable for fill and key, compatibility with professional editing, graphics and streaming software, high bandwidth and direct power through Thunderbolt 4, a compact portable format, ProRes, DNxHD and 10-bit uncompressed codec support, and Media Express software included.
