The celexon DisplayPort cable complies with version 1.2 and transmits up to 21.6 Gbps, supporting 4K / Ultra HD / 4096 x 2160p @60 Hz signals with 10-bit colour depth. 4:4:4 subsampling carries brightness and image data accurately. The connection supports 16/24-bit RGB/YUV, Deep Color and x.v.Color colour spaces, together with Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, DVD Audio and SA-CD audio standards.

MST (Multi-Stream Transport) allows the computer's DisplayPort interface to control multiple monitors. Two arrangements are possible: a daisy chain, where the displays can be switched on in sequence, or an additional DisplayPort MST hub. The number of connectable screens depends on the resolution of each display; one example is a group of 4 Full HD monitors at 1920 x 1080p @60 Hz.

In a chained installation, the final monitor is the only exception: every other display needs a DisplayPort receiver and transmitter so it can accept the video stream assigned to it and forward the remaining stream to the following components. After extracting its own video and audio stream, the monitor passes the rest of the data along the chain. Every monitor in the chain must therefore have all the stream information.

The second method uses an MST hub to split the full bandwidth of a DisplayPort output and can, for example, send 4 independent Full HD signals at 60 Hz. MST hubs distribute the video signals with audio to the connected monitors and also permit displays with different input types to be used. The cable additionally supports 3D, HDCP and EDID.
