The celexon DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable from the Professional Line combines cable and adapter in one connection. Its DisplayPort plug connects to a source such as a PC or laptop, while the HDMI-A plug connects to an HDMI display or projector. The connection is unidirectional, so it does not support the reverse path from HDMI to DisplayPort; no additional adapter is required when connecting a DisplayPort socket to an HDMI-A socket.

It complies with DisplayPort version 1.2 and HDMI 1.4 and carries data at up to 10.2 Gbps. Resolutions up to 4K / Ultra HD are supported, specifically 4096x2160p at 30 Hz with 8-bit colour depth. 4:4:4 chroma subsampling preserves the full brightness and image information. Supported colour spaces include 16/24-bit RGB/YUV, Deep Color and x.v.Color™. Compatible audio standards are Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio™, DVD Audio and SA-CD. Additional functions are MST (Multi-Stream Transport), HDCP and EDID.

MST makes it possible to operate several monitors through one DisplayPort interface on the PC. The displays can be connected in sequence as a daisy chain or through an additional DisplayPort MST hub. The number of displays depends on the resolution of each individual screen; for example, 4 displays with Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080p at 60 Hz can be connected. In a daisy-chain configuration, every display except the last one must have a DisplayPort receiver and transmitter. This allows it to receive the video stream addressed to itself and to the other chain members, extract its own video and audio stream, and forward the remaining video and audio stream along the chain. Each monitor in the chain must therefore have all the information required for the configuration.

With the alternative MST hub method, the full bandwidth of one DisplayPort output is divided so that, for example, 4 independent Full HD signals can be sent at 60 Hz. The MST hub distributes these video signals, including sound, to the connected displays and also permits the use of screens with different inputs.

The cable has triple shielding and gold-plated contacts that provide high corrosion resistance and reliable signal transmission.
