The celexon UHD Optical Fibre HDMI cable complies with HDMI 2.1 and supports data rates up to 48 Gbps. Resolutions reach 8K, or 7680x4320p at 60 Hz with up to 12-bit colour depth, and 4K, or 4096x2160p at 120 Hz with up to 12-bit colour depth. Its hybrid construction contains 4 glass fibres and 8 copper wires, enabling interference-free high-data-rate transmission over very long distances. The electrical signal in the Source connector becomes light pulses, travels through the glass fibres to the Display connector and is converted back into an electrical signal. The cable direction must therefore be observed during installation.

The cable is only 5.5 mm in diameter. A maximum bending radius of 30 mm and 10 circuits running along its entire length provide a high degree of flexibility during installation. Its very thin, narrow connector can be used in difficult-to-reach positions without covering other nearby interfaces.

Dynamic HDR, or High Dynamic Range, includes processes such as Dolby Vision and HDR10+. These allow a wider colour and dynamic range to be shown, producing a brighter, more detailed picture, while optimisation is adjusted more individually for each image. Fast colour changes between strong contrasts, such as a transition from white to black, can consequently appear more natural.

Enhanced Audio Return Channel, eARC, is the next generation of ARC and forms part of the HDMI 2.1 specification. It can carry up to 32 audio channels using uncompressed 24-bit/192 kHz data streams at up to 38 Mbps. The increased bandwidth and speed allow Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X to be transmitted without compression.

Automatic Low Latency Mode, or ALLM, is especially relevant to gaming. By removing advanced video processing, it reduces delays and provides the display with the fastest possible response. Operation requires an ALLM-enabled monitor or TV and source devices that output a high-quality video signal for immediate display playback. There should then be no perceptible delay between pressing the controller and the picture response, supporting a more direct and precise gaming experience. Through a handshake, all connected ALLM-capable devices automatically select the appropriate mode with the shortest possible latency; an interconnected AV receiver requires no additional settings.

Another HDMI 2.1 function is Variable Refresh Rate, VRR. It synchronises the refresh rate of the source device with that of the output device to avoid picture jerkiness and tearing. The rate can range from 30 to 144 Hz, helping maintain sharp images and reduce screen tearing, for example during gaming. An additional Ethernet channel lets compatible Internet-enabled AV components connect to the home network through a single HDMI cable.
