The celexon UHD Optical Fibre HDMI cable complies with the HDMI 2.1 specification and transmits signals at up to 48 Gbps. It supports resolutions up to 8K, namely 7680x4320p at 60 Hz with up to 12-bit colour depth, and up to 4K, namely 4096x2160p at 120 Hz with up to 12-bit colour depth. Its hybrid construction combines 4 glass fibres and 8 copper wires for signal transmission over long distances.

The electrical signal is converted into light pulses in the “Source” connector, transmitted through the optical fibres and converted back into an electrical signal in the “Display” connector. The cable direction must therefore be observed during installation. With a diameter of only 5.5 mm, a maximum bending radius of 30 mm and 10 circuits along the entire cable, it offers a high degree of flexibility during cabling. The slim connector can be installed in difficult-to-access locations and does not cover nearby interfaces.

HDR (High Dynamic Range) technologies including Dolby Vision and HDR10+ provide a wider dynamic and colour range and adjust picture optimisation for each individual frame. Rapid changes between high contrasts, such as a transition from white to black, are therefore reproduced more naturally.

The eARC audio return channel, an enhanced version of ARC included in the HDMI 2.1 specification, can transmit up to 32 audio channels with uncompressed 24-bit/192 kHz data streams at a maximum speed of 38 Mbps. The increased bandwidth allows formats such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X to be transmitted without compression.

Automatic Low Latency Mode (ALLM) reduces delays by removing advanced video processing and provides fast response times. It requires an ALLM-compatible monitor and source devices capable of supplying a high-quality video signal that the display can reproduce immediately. The HDMI 2.1 specification also includes Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), which synchronises the refresh rate of the source with that of the output device. The refresh rate can vary from 30 to 144 Hz, adapting to produce sharp images and reduce issues such as screen tearing. The additional Ethernet channel connects Internet-capable AV components to the home network through a single HDMI cable.
