The CELEXON active HDMI cable with Ethernet is HDMI 2.0 compliant and carries up to 18 Gbps, including 4K (4096x2160p at 60 Hz with 8 bit colour depth) and 4K HDR with 10 bit colour depth. HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology supports a wide colour range for a brighter, more detailed image.

Unlike standard HDMI cables with Ethernet, this type builds powerful signal amplifiers into the connector. As cable length grows, line resistance and attenuation rise, which harms signal quality—especially at high data rates. Without amplification, the signal at the cable end can be too weak for a clean picture, leading to digital artefacts or a full loss of picture and data.

CELEXON active HDMI cables use a dedicated chip that amplifies the signal at 6 Gbps per TMDS transmission line for loss-free transfer over longer runs. The active HDMI cable is offered in lengths up to 20 m; this version is 7.5 m long.

The Ethernet channel connects Internet-capable AV gear to the home network through HDMI alone. With the TV on a wired network link, the AV receiver or Blu-Ray player takes network data as well as video over HDMI, so no network switch or extra cables are required.
