Portable 8K HDMI analyzer, battery-powered - CYP CYP-XA-8P

For a professional AV installer, checking HDMI system integrity is essential when working with 8K, 4K HDR and high-bandwidth signals. CYP XA-8P is a battery-powered portable instrument for testing and analysing the complete HDMI path, from source to display. HDMI 2.1 and HDCP 1.4/2.2/2.3 compliance is combined with system analysis, pattern generation and EDID management, providing a practical set of tools for field diagnosis and verification.

The front panel gives immediate access to the controls, while the HDMI connections are positioned on the top of the unit. Battery operation provides flexibility in complex installations; charging is handled through the USB-C port, which can also power the unit from an external power supply or power bank. In Test Pattern Mode, the generator offers 40 selectable output resolutions up to 8K and 20 selectable test patterns. The HDMI 8K UHD+ input and output operate at 40 Gbps, with resolutions up to 7680 × 4320 @ 60 Hz (4:2:0, 8-bit).

Analyzer mode provides video, audio, timing and packet analysis for 8K sources. EDID management includes analysis and emulation, 12 preset EDIDs and 10 user-definable EDIDs. The handheld format fits in the palm of your hand and includes easy-to-use front controls, while the OLED display rapidly refreshes status information. HDCP and SCDC monitoring are also provided, together with HDR bypass, analysis and generation compliant with the CEA HDR static metadata extensions CEA-861-G and CEA-861.3.

XA-8P can generate up to 8 channels of LPCM audio, with adjustable sine-wave frequencies for each channel. It is powered by one lithium-ion battery, not included, or by a USB-C power supply or external power bank. With an HDMI-DVI adapter it is compliant with DVI 1.0, and it also supports HDCP 1.4 and 2.3.

The instrument enables immediate HDMI fault diagnosis in the field, shorter response times through complete testing without external devices, greater reliability in high-bandwidth 8K and 4K HDR installations, and quick compatibility checks between sources, cables and displays. One unit combines the functions of separate generators, analysers and testers.
