1-way passive column speaker featuring an elegant appearance and excellent sound performance. The 24 x 2" full-range speakers produce a cylindrical sound wave up to the highest audible frequencies. These speakers are the best choice for reproducing the human voice due to their low diaphragm weight and almost equal size to the human vocal cords. To reproduce a sound event from the fundamental to the overtones, conventional speakers use two or three different types of transducers; this results in poor coherence not only in the crossover areas, but also in the important mid-frequency range due to the different decay times and diaphragm mass of the different transducer types and a different "response characteristic". Especially when reproducing instruments or dialogues where the fundamental range is covered by one type of transducer and the overtone range by the other type, the sound can be distorted.
