Audiophony PA WICASTplay+ is a wireless audio transmitter that uses a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to turn active loudspeakers and home cinema systems into a multi-room audio system. For multi-room operation, one WICASTplay+ is required in each room, connected to one loudspeaker, a pair of loudspeakers, or an audio system equipped with an analogue line input.

The unit provides a stereo audio output on 2 RCA connectors and 1 analogue 3.5 mm mini-jack audio input for a telephone or another device with a stereo analogue audio output and volume control. The available volume function is master volume control. The device reads audio files from a USB drive and supports USB play, AUX input, Wi-Fi play, the RJ45 socket and Bluetooth 5.0. Wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, while wired connectivity is provided through the RJ45 Ethernet port.

The RJ45 connection enables more stable file playback through the Ethernet protocol. WICASTplay+ operates with a LinkPlay card compatible with many streaming and multi-room apps and with major music streaming services including Spotify, Napster, Tidal and TuneIn. The specifications list AirPlay 1 compatibility, while the feature description also states AirPlay 2 compatibility. The WiiM Player app for iOS and Android provides full streaming control; through the app, different music can be played in each room or listening can be managed separately. DLNA technology allows files to be shared between various multimedia devices.

The Wi-Fi antenna is external and adjustable, with a gain of 3 dBi. Additional functions include an alarm clock and programmed stop. The SAR value is 95 dB. The power supply is stated as 12 VDC 2 A via an external adapter; the feature list also specifies operation at 15 VDC 2 A. The supplied adapter is rated from 100–240 V AC to 12 V DC 1 A, or the unit can use a 15 V DC 2 A connector. Frequency response is 20 Hz–20 kHz. Dimensions are 145 x 75 x 33 mm and weight is 215 g.
