Audiophony HIT-H11142 is a UHF wireless microphone system made up of a handheld transmitter, a True Diversity receiver and a plastic transport case. It operates from 514 to 564 MHz, a suitable range considering that the latest PNRF, or National Frequency Distribution Plan, introduced further restrictions on the band available for wireless microphones. The transmitter provides 35 mW ERP output power, higher than the average level offered by other handheld wireless microphones in the same price range, improving range in line-of-sight links when only a few wireless microphones are operating and intermodulation phenomena are absent or negligible. The operating range contains 997 programmed frequencies.

The microphone body includes a blue-background LCD showing the group, channel and battery level. Power comes from two 1.5 V AA batteries, providing approximately 10 hours of operation, while the antenna is integrated into the terminal section. The True Diversity receiver uses two detachable antennas and includes an auto-scan function for checking the RF environment and locating the most suitable operating frequency in the area. Channels are arranged in 8 groups, with 16 compatible channels in each group. Channel selection can be manual, through a Tact Switch, by Auto-Scan, or synchronised with the transmitter using the SYNQ/SYNC function.

The front-panel display indicates frequency, group, channel, RF and AF. Volume and squelch can be adjusted, with the squelch controlled by a rear rotary knob. Audio outputs are a balanced XLR3-M and a 6.35 mm TS-F mono jack, with line or microphone output levels. The receiver uses a PLL synthesiser, provides ±0.005% frequency stability, FM modulation and H.H.T. below 1% at 1 kHz, with an audio frequency response from 80 Hz to 18 kHz. Volume is controlled by a rotary knob. The detachable antennas use BNC connections, and many accessories are available. Power is supplied at 12 V DC by the supplied adaptor, with current consumption of 260 mA ± 10 mA. Dimensions are 20 x 42 x 18.3 cm: half a 19-inch rack unit, rackable in pairs.
