PIXELHUE EP4R-S is a fibre-optic receiver designed to carry audio and video signals over long distances without quality loss, overcoming restrictions caused by link length and signal degradation. Fibre transmission and reception resist electromagnetic interference, keeping the signal stable even in demanding electromagnetic environments.

The receiver can run in standalone mode, for example together with a Pixelhue presentation switcher, or it can be paired with the EP4T transmitter. It can also be integrated with all Novastar devices fitted with fibre-optic inputs and outputs. Typical uses include architectural installations: a building façade illuminated by two video projectors can receive two uncompressed 4K video signals from a source positioned far away, while the fibre link preserves quality and reliability. At university campuses, two uncompressed 4K signals can be transferred between separate points, overcoming the limits of traditional connections. For live events and video control rooms, when the control room is remote from the stage, the signal can be delivered directly to stage monitors or other devices while maintaining maximum quality and stability.

Lossless 8-bit and 10-bit compression delivers clear, detailed video images. The compact enclosure and Plug & Play installation simplify setup and make signal extension immediate. The receiver is supplied with 4 EOLP-1396-10-I single-mode modules and supports a maximum reception distance of 3 km.

Dedicated indicators make device-status monitoring straightforward. EDID passthrough supports compatibility with various devices, while input copy, 3D passthrough and HDR are supported. Multi-platform PC host remote control is available through KVM roaming and, when the unit works with a presentation switcher, it supports OPT input-source mosaic. Video reception is HDCP encrypted, and two USB ports accept a keyboard or mouse for remote control.

Video reception preserves signal detail and ultra-high-definition quality, with strong resistance to interference, zero-latency operation, simple Plug & Play use and continuous 24/7 operation. EP4R-S is suitable for broadcast, live events, conference rooms, monitoring centres and Digital Signage.

At the OPT input, 8-bit depth supports RGB 4:4:4 up to 8192 x 1080 @ 60 Hz and 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz; the same limits apply to YCbCr 4:4:4 and YCbCr 4:2:2. YCbCr 4:2:0 reaches 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. At 10-bit depth, RGB 4:4:4 supports 4096 x 2160 @ 30 Hz and 3600 x 2160 @ 60.
