PIXELHUE EP4R-M is a fibre-optic receiver for sending audio and video signals over long distances without quality loss, overcoming link-length restrictions and signal degradation. Fibre technology resists electromagnetic interference and provides stable transmission even in difficult electromagnetic environments.

EP4R-M can operate in standalone mode, for example alongside a Pixelhue presentation switcher, or as a pair with the EP4T transmitter. It can also be integrated with all Novastar devices equipped with fibre-optic input and output. Architectural installations may require two uncompressed 4K video signals to be sent to two video projectors illuminating a building façade, with the source positioned far from the destination; fibre transmission preserves quality and reliability in this situation. On university campuses, the unit transfers two uncompressed 4K signals between separate points while overcoming the limits of traditional connections. During live events and in video control rooms, it sends the signal to stage monitors or other devices when the control room is far from the stage, maintaining quality and stability.

Lossless 8-bit and 10-bit compression produces sharp, detailed images. The compact design and Plug & Play installation make configuration and signal extension immediate. The package contains 4 EOLP-8596-02-I multi-mode modules, with a maximum reception distance of 300 m.

Clear signal indicators simplify status monitoring. EDID passthrough supports use with various devices, together with input copy, 3D passthrough and HDR. Multi-platform PC host remote control is available through KVM roaming; when used with a presentation switcher, the receiver also supports OPT input-source mosaic. The received video is HDCP encrypted, and two USB ports allow a keyboard or mouse to be connected for remote control.

The receiver preserves video-signal detail and ultra-high-definition quality, while providing high resistance to interference, zero-latency reception, Plug & Play operation and continuous 24/7 use. Application areas include broadcast, live events, conference rooms, university campuses, monitoring centres and Digital Signage.

For the OPT input, 8-bit RGB 4:4:4 reaches 8192 x 1080 @ 60 Hz and 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz; the same values are available for YCbCr 4:4:4 and YCbCr 4:2:2. YCbCr 4:2:0 reaches 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. At 10-bit depth, RGB 4:4:4 supports 4096 x 2160 @ 30.
