The Blackmagic Design BLM-DV/RESSTUD licence provides DaVinci Resolve Studio, a single environment for video editing, colour correction, visual effects, motion graphics and audio post production. Its modern interface brings together tools that are accessible to new users and functions suited to professionals, allowing work without switching between applications while retaining camera-original image quality throughout the workflow. The software therefore combines the functions of a post-production studio in one application and teaches the same tools used by Hollywood professionals.

DaVinci Resolve is presented as Hollywood’s number-one post-production solution: professionals working on films and television series use it for editing, colour, VFX and sound. Its Emmy™ award-winning image technology provides 32-bit floating-point processing, patented YRGB colour science and a wide-gamut colour space for HDR workflows. The Fairlight audio engine provides the audio processing associated with film and television sound. The software includes the tools used every day by colourists, editors, visual effects artists and sound engineers to finish films and streaming television shows.

DaVinci Resolve 18 introduces cloud-based workflows for remote collaboration. Project libraries can be hosted on Blackmagic Cloud, allowing multiple users to work on the same timeline in real time from anywhere in the world. The Proxy Generator application creates and manages proxies automatically, while the new proxy menu automates proxy work and allows original media and proxies to be relinked with a single click. Apple Neural Engine support provides playback up to 30 times faster on Apple Mac computers with M1 processors. Version 18 also includes new Resolve FX, including Ultra Beauty and 3D depth maps, improved subtitling for editors, Fairlight fixed-bus to FlexBus conversion and further functions.

The redesigned project libraries support real-time local and remote collaboration. Blackmagic Cloud allows projects to be hosted and accessed from any location, while editors, colourists, visual effects artists and sound engineers can work at the same time. The shared workflow avoids importing and exporting files, translating or moving projects, risking lost work, and conforming or managing changes manually. DaVinci Resolve lets everyone work in parallel on the same project at the same time. Its pages divide the application into dedicated workspaces, each providing tools for a specific task.
