Moving head liquid flame machine - Explo EXP-X2

The Explo EXP-X2 combines a liquid-fuel flame-effect system with moving-head technology in one compact and robust unit. Its integrated design produces distinctive stage effects through a motorised adjustable nozzle, capable of generating very fast and accurate flame bursts. The head can direct the output across a 210° arc (±105°), creating flames from approximately 3 m up to 10 m high; the approximately 10 m maximum applies in windless conditions. The flame pictures available from the unit open additional possibilities for designing indoor and outdoor shows.

Operation is handled through the built-in display, which provides a detailed menu and control buttons, together with the removable 10 L fuel container. An optional TX2-70K bidirectional radio control can be used, with a range of up to 800 m. The EXP-X2 can also be controlled through DMX and DMX-512. Its main supply range is 110 to 230 VAC; rated power is 300 W. With an optional connector, the unit can instead be powered by an external battery, avoiding a connection to the mains. The stated supply options also include 230 V AC or 2 external 12 V DC sources, while 110 V availability is provided upon request.

Several safety systems are incorporated, including pressure monitoring, movement locking, automatic leak detection, a double valve, electronic dry-run protection and empty-tank detection to help prevent damage to the pumping systems. Programming may be carried out directly from the individual firing commands or simultaneously through software. Each of the 15 angles has its own channel for addressing variable valve-opening times. A further 40 pre-programmed sequences or macros, consisting of movement patterns, can be started directly.

Suitable liquids include bioethanol, isopropyl alcohol IPA and Isopar. For a bright yellow flame colour, bioethanol can be mixed with IPA at a 1:1 ratio. The product is housed in a stainless-steel chassis with an integrated tripod support. Its dimensions are 56 x 33.5 x 36.5 cm, and its weight is 27 kg with the tank empty. A version without an internal pump is also available; this version has a quick-fit connector for attaching an external pump. CE certification is specified.

The 210° motorised adjustable nozzle, compact format and robust construction make the unit suitable for festivals, live music concerts, clubs, discos, television and theatre shows, fashion and sports events, and service and rental companies. It can be used both indoors and outdoors, subject to the operating conditions of the system.
