All-in-one LED video controller 4 Ethernet 2,6Mpixel - Novastar NOV-VX400PRO

NovaStar VX400 Pro combines video processing and control in one all-in-one controller. Its 4 Ethernet output ports provide a total loading capacity of 2.6 million pixels, with 650,000 pixels available per port at an input bit depth of 8 bit. A single unit handles images up to 10,240 pixels wide and 8192 pixels high. The device supports a 4K × 2K HDMI 2.0 input at 60 Hz, 4K × 2K dot-to-dot display and 4K image quality with 6 layers, each offering free scaling; a 6-layer 2K × 1K configuration is also specified.

The connection panel includes 1 3G-SDI input compatible with ST-424 (3G), ST-292 (HD) and ST-259 (SD) video standards, with a maximum input resolution of 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz and supported 3G-SDI loop output. There are 2 HDMI 1.3 inputs, each supporting up to 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz, plus 1 HDMI 2.0 input supporting up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz, with HDMI 2.0-1 loop-out support. HDMI 1.4 and HDMI 1.3 video inputs are supported, together with 8, 10 and 12-bit video, HDCP 1.4, HDCP 2.2, deinterlacing, accompanied audio and custom resolutions. Interlaced signal inputs are not supported, and input resolution and bit-depth settings cannot be configured.

Custom input resolutions reach a maximum width of 8192 pixels, corresponding to 8192 × 1080 at 60 Hz, and a maximum height of 8188 pixels, corresponding to 1080 × 8188 at 60 Hz. Another specified limit is 2048 pixels in width, or 2048 × 1080 at 60 Hz, and 2048 pixels in height, or 1080 × 2024 at 60 Hz. HDMI 1.3 provides monitor and video output modes, with a fixed output resolution of 1920 × 1080 at 60 Hz.

The 2 OPT connectors are 10 G optical-fibre ports. OPT 1 is self-adaptive and can be used for video input or output; OPT 2 provides output with copy and backup modes or loop output. Audio connections consist of 1 input and 1 output on standard 3.5 mm connectors, with an audio sampling rate up to 48 kHz. The unit also has 2 Ethernet ports for PC connection and access to the Unico web page for device control, 1 USB 2.0 port for firmware updates through a USB drive and 1 USB 3.0 port for Plug & Play playback.

The RS232 interface assigns RX to signal reception, TX to signal transmission and G to ground. A control connector can serve as the input or output for device cascading; logs and EDID files can also be imported or exported. A light sensor measures ambient brightness and allows automatic screen-brightness adjustment.

A single processor provides three freely selectable operating modes: video controller, bypass and fibre converter. VX400 Pro handles 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz through HDMI 2.0 and offers low-latency and ByPass modes for real-time video applications. USB 3.0 Plug & Play playback is not available in the standard VX series. Latency is 0 frame, or nearly zero, and the unit provides 256 customisable presets.

System redundancy covers input sources, system configuration, Ethernet ports and devices. The controller is intended for mid- to high-end rental, concerts, conferences, live shows, stage control systems and fine-pitch LED walls, including installations such as shopping malls.

Power is supplied at 100–240 V AC, 50/60 Hz. Rated power consumption is 41 W and the noise level is 45 dB (A). Operating temperature is 0 to 50 °C, while operating humidity is 5 to 85% RH, non-condensing. Dimensions are 48.26 × 30.22 × 5.01 cm and net weight is 3.8 kg.
