The Definitive Audio TM 42 BU-DSP is a seven-channel analog mixer. Four Combo MIC / line inputs carry LOW / HIGH two-band EQ at 80 Hz and 12 kHz (±15 dB), a high-pass filter and a low-cut button on channels 1–4. A stereo / mono jack input serves CH 5–6, a stereo LIVE mini-jack handles CH 7–8, and an SW FOOT input accepts a mute pedal. Two male XLR outputs and one 6.35 mm headphone jack complete the main routing.

A built-in Bluetooth receiver and USB player / recorder handle MP3, WAV, APE and FLAC files. Ninety-nine DSP effects run at 24 bit / 48 kHz; microphone preamps are high quality for flawless performance. +48 V phantom power has an LED indicator, with LED saturation indication, adjustable sensitivity and frequency response 20 – 20,000 Hz ± 0.5 dB.
