The Synq BEG-B08206 is a premium-quality analogue/Dante network audio bridge designed for touring and rental applications. It supports the AES67 protocol and provides 4 high-quality balanced analogue inputs for MIC/line signals, which can be converted into Dante and/or AES67 network audio. Dante and/or AES67 network signals can likewise be converted into 4 high-quality balanced analogue outputs. The interface also includes GPIO ports, XLR Combo input connectors and XLR 3M output connectors.

The unit connects traditional analogue audio with audio transported over a GigaBit Ethernet network using Dante, while maintaining ultra-low latency and high audio quality. Its integrated DSP processing provides parametric equalisers, compressors, delays and other processing functions on all channels. It can therefore be used upstream of loudspeakers equipped with a Dante input, as well as in many other audio applications.

The integrated Web Server provides an intuitive GUI, or Graphical User Interface, for configuring and controlling DSP parameters from any network device, without installing dedicated software. Reliability is supported by high-quality electronic components, including high-end Burr Brown audio DACs, AKM ADCs and Wurth electrolytic capacitors.

A distinctive feature is support for the open-source OSC, Open Sound Control, protocol, described in the source as unique on the market. OSC allows all functions to be controlled through user-created apps running on iPhones, Android phones, tablets and desktop computers. Originally developed to connect computers and multimedia devices over a network, the protocol can be used instead of traditional MIDI controllers with an iPhone and similar devices.

For the Synq DBT-44, TouchOSC can be used to create a customised graphical interface for the end user, exposing only a few specific parameters. This is useful, for example, in hotel installations where access should be limited to selected controls in order to avoid confusion or mistakes. The panel may include two faders, one for adjusting the audio system volume on the terrace and one for the volume inside a hotel, together with two muting buttons and two buttons for a specific equalisation.

Once the connection has been configured, TouchOSC sends messages containing the parameters over the network to all recipients without needing to know their IP addresses. The only known information is the DNS of these devices, obtained through the SYNQ Network Discovery Tool, which makes it very easy to locate them on a local network and open them.
