The Briteq DMS-283 RDM combines DMX merger, splitter and booster functions in one standard 19-inch, 1U rack unit. Complete electrical isolation separates the two inputs from the eight outputs, each fitted with 3-pin XLR connectors, helping prevent interference and maintain a stable signal path.

Two DMX signals can be combined in different ways. HTP selects the higher value when two identical channels are compared, whereas LTP gives priority to the value changed most recently. If the DMX signal on input A fails, the backup function immediately transfers operation to input B. The signal from input A can also be assigned to outputs 1 to 4, while input B can feed outputs 5 to 8, providing flexible routing.

If both DMX inputs are interrupted at the same time, the unit offers three response options: stop the DMX signal completely, retain the last recorded values, or set every value to zero. The splitter section sends the DMX signal from inputs A and B to eight identical outputs. RDM filtering helps prevent unexpected behaviour from connected DMX devices, supporting system compatibility and stability. The output refresh rate can be set between 20 and 40 Hz to suit fast DMX controllers as well as slower devices. A graphic OLED display on the front panel simplifies setup management.
