Briteq DMS-283 RDM combines three DMX signal-management functions in one 19" 1U rack unit: merger, splitter and booster. Its two inputs and eight outputs are fully electrically isolated, while every output uses a 5-pin XLR connector, limiting interference and maintaining stable signal flow.

The two DMX feeds can be combined in several ways. HTP selects the higher value between matching channels, whereas LTP gives priority to the value changed most recently. If the signal on input A fails, the backup facility immediately hands over to input B. The device can also route input A to outputs 1 to 4 and input B to outputs 5 to 8.

If DMX disappears from both inputs at the same time, three response settings are available: stop the signal completely, retain the last recorded values or set every value to zero. Used as a splitter, the unit sends the DMX signal from inputs A and B to eight identical outputs.

RDM filtering helps prevent unexpected responses from connected DMX devices, improving system compatibility and stability. The output refresh rate can be selected between 20 and 40 Hz, allowing use with fast DMX controllers as well as slower equipment. A graphic OLED display on the front panel provides direct access to the settings.
