ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 is a compact live production video switcher for high-end broadcast studios. Its redesigned control panel arranges the buttons and functions for more intuitive operation. It has 8 standards-converted HDMI inputs, 3 independent HDMI outputs and a built-in streaming engine for direct transmission without external hardware. ISO recording saves all 8 video inputs separately for editing. 10G Ethernet provides faster access to network storage, while phantom-powered XLR inputs and 32 channels of digital MADI support provide professional audio handling. CFexpress and Thunderbolt are supported for high-speed recording and playback. Multi view monitors up to 16 sources at the same time. DVE and advanced chroma key provide graphics and overlay effects. USB webcam functionality allows the unit to act as a video source for streaming software.

Compared with ATEM Mini Extreme ISO, the G2 adds 10G Ethernet for faster network-storage access, supports CFexpress and Thunderbolt, and increases the HDMI output count from 2 to 3. Its audio section includes phantom-powered XLR inputs and 32 channels of digital MADI support. The 8 HDMI video inputs are HDMI Type A, 10-bit HD switchable, with 2 channels of embedded audio. Video input re-sync operates on all 8 HDMI inputs and remote sources; frame-rate and format converters operate on all 8 HDMI inputs and remote sources. The control-panel connection is Ethernet, allowing a direct connection between panel and chassis or connection through a network. Ethernet provides 1G for simple streaming, control panels and internet connection, plus a 10G Ethernet connection for recording. Tally is available on Blackmagic HDMI cameras and remote cameras. The computer interface includes 2 USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 ports for external-drive recording, webcam output, software control, software updates and panel connection, plus 1 Thunderbolt connection for fill and key video out, video input, Ethernet to storage and power.

HDMI input resolutions from computers include 1280 x 720p at 50 Hz, 59.94 Hz and 60 Hz; 1920 x 1080p at 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94 and 60 Hz; and 1920 x 1080i at 50, 59.94 and 60 Hz. Colour-space conversion is hardware-based and real time.

The mix-effects section has 1 row, 10 direct cross points and NKK crosspoint buttons. It includes 1 preview transition, 6 dedicated macro buttons, 8 key buttons, 6 AUX buttons, 1 fader bar, 2 record buttons, 2 stream buttons, 6 DSK transition selectors and 1 NKK fade-to-black button. The source-select bus is set using multi-function controls and Fairlight audio status output. Transition type buttons and transition rate are set in the same way, using multi-function controls and Fairlight audio status output. The system includes 2 DVEs.

The audio mixer has 58 channels, selectable ON, OFF or Audio-Follow-Video per channel, level and peak metering, and master gain control. It provides 6-band parametric EQ and dynamics including expander, gate, compressor and limiter. Control is available from the built-in panel, the included software control panel with camera control, or an optional hardware panel. The panel connection uses 10/100/1000/10G BaseT Ethernet for direct panel-to-chassis or network connection; direct USB-C connection is also supported. Ethernet or USB-C is used for software updates. The listed destinations include Videohub Smart Control Pro and Videohub Master Control Pro, together with streaming, recording, multi view, media player and control functions.
