The SDI Expander 8x12G is a bidirectional converter designed for integrating 12G-SDI equipment into IP infrastructures based on 100G Ethernet and the SMPTE-2110 standard. It simultaneously manages eight channels of 12G-SDI to SMPTE-2110 conversion and eight channels in the opposite direction, for a total of 16 independent conversions in a single 1U rack space. The two 100G Ethernet ports provide full SMPTE-2022-7 redundancy, with seamless switching based on RTP packet comparison and real-time video frame reconstruction, preventing frame drops or audio glitches even in the event of a network failure. The front panel features an LCD display for source monitoring, a speaker, and a headphone jack for instant audio monitoring. Dual redundant AC power supplies ensure continuous operation in mission-critical broadcast environments. Thanks to the dedicated NMOS connection, the device easily integrates into IP routing systems, simplifying the management of SMPTE-2110 sources and reducing the wiring complexity typical of traditional SDI installations.
