6x2 4K HDBaseT DSP mixer multi-format AV matrix - CYP EL-8400VA

CYP EL‑8400VA is a 6 × 2 multi-format AV matrix switcher with HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C and HDBaseT inputs, designed to handle different video sources for presentations, lessons and AV installations. The selected signal can be sent through HDMI or HDBaseT2 over distances up to 100 m on CAT6A, together with bidirectional Ethernet, RS‑232, USB, IR and 48 V PoH power for compatible transmitters and receivers. HDBaseT output reaches 90 m at 1080p and 100 m with CAT6A at 4K @ 30.

The matrix supports the complete HDBaseT feature set: HD video and audio, 100BaseT Ethernet, 48 V PoH and bidirectional IR, RS‑232 and USB control. Standard PSE PoH is available on both the HDBaseT input and output. Automatic colour conversion is provided for HDBaseT output, which supports up to 4K @ 60 4:2:0 or 4K @ 30 4:4:4. HDMI, USB-C and DisplayPort support up to 4K UHD at 18 Gbps, 4:4:4 and 8-bit; the unit is compatible with HDBaseT 2.0, HDMI 2.0, DVI 1.0, DisplayPort 1.4, HDCP 1.x and HDCP 2.2.

There are 6 video inputs: USB-C, HDBaseT, 3 HDMI and DisplayPort, plus 2 video outputs, HDMI and HDBaseT. The USB-C port can provide up to 60 W to the connected device. The integrated Class-D amplifier delivers 20 W per channel. Microphone inputs can receive optional 48 V or 5 V Phantom power; stereo inputs, 2 microphone inputs and balanced outputs are provided.

The built-in DSP mixer can combine up to 4 LPCM 2.0 sources with the microphone inputs and auto-gain. Up to 15 audio sources can be routed independently to 5 audio outputs; gain can be adjusted for each source and volume for each output. Audio can therefore be mixed or kept unmixed, with independent routing for complex applications in conference rooms and classrooms. The system also supports up to 4 simultaneous USB hosts, with active-host selection.

Video and USB inputs can be selected manually or automatically, with hot-plug detection, Last Memory Switching and seamless switching without loss of video synchronisation. Full EDID and HDCP management is available. Control can be performed from the front-panel OSD, through RS‑232, Telnet, Web GUI or trigger; the optional Trigger Control Keypad is also supported.

Inputs comprise 3 × HDMI Type-A, 1 × DisplayPort, 1 × USB-C, 1 × HDBaseT RJ‑45, 1 × stereo audio on a 3.5 mm connector and 1 × stereo audio on a 5-pin terminal block, plus 2 × microphone on 5-pin terminal blocks. Outputs comprise 1 × HDBaseT RJ‑45, 1 × HDMI Type-A, 1 × Class-D amplified stereo output on 2-pin terminal blocks and 2 × stereo audio on 5-pin terminal blocks.

Pass-through connections include 1 × IR extender and blaster on a 4-pin terminal block, 1 × RS‑232 on a 6-pin terminal block, 2 × power relays on 2-pin terminal blocks, 2 × USB Type-A and 1 × USB Type-B. The unit also has 1 × RJ‑45 LAN port, 1 × RS‑232 control port on a 3-pin terminal block, 1 × trigger on a 10-pin terminal block and 1 × USB Type-B service port.

HDMI compliance is HDMI 2.0 and DVI 1.0; HDCP compliance is 2.2. Input and output signal types are 4K @ 60 YUV 4:4:4. Maximum input resolution is 4096 × 2160p @ 60 YUV 4:4:4 for HDMI, USB-C and DP, and 4096 × 2160p @ 60 YUV 4:2:0 for HDBaseT. Maximum output resolution is 4096 × 2160p @ 60 YUV 4:4:4 on HDMI and 4096 × 2160p @ 60 YUV 4:2:0 on HDBaseT. The digital format is LPCM, 2 channels at 48 kHz.

Microphone input level is 50 mV RMS; the 5-pin analogue input is 4 V RMS and the 3.5 mm analogue input is 2 V RMS. The 5-pin analogue output is 4 V RMS, with THD+N < −60 dB @ 0 dBFS 1 kHz (A-wt), SNR > 70 dB @ 0 dBFS, frequency response ±3 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and crosstalk < −60 dB @ 10 kHz. The amplified output is 20 W + 20 W, with THD+N < −60 dB @ 0 dBFS 1 kHz (A-wt), SNR > 70 dB, frequency response ±3 dB from 20 Hz to 20 kHz and crosstalk < −60 dB @ 10 kHz.

Power is supplied at 100–240 V AC and consumption is 156 W. The chassis is made of metal, steel, and is black. Case-only dimensions are 43.8 × 26.9 × 4.4 cm; all-inclusive dimensions are 48.2 × 29.2 × 4.9 cm. Weight is 4.035 kg. The EL‑8400VA is intended for corporate conference rooms with advanced presentation requirements, university and school classrooms, corporate installations with long-distance AV distribution over HDBaseT and hybrid meetings.
