The D-Drive 1.8k4-ae is LEM Commercial's new compact 19" 1U rack-mount power amplifier, designed to offer high performance, advanced management, and maximum reliability in modern fixed installations. It is the first model in a new generation of power amplifiers with integrated DSP, featuring a web-based control platform that allows configuration and monitoring from any browser, without the need for dedicated software.
The heart of the D-Drive 1.8k4-ae is a high-performance DSP based on the ADI Sharc 21569 1 GHz platform, capable of managing a full 4 x 4 matrix and a set of extremely advanced processing functions. Processing includes 96 kHz FIR filters, parametric and dynamic equalization, compressors, expanders, and delays up to 2000 ms per channel, with the option of using presets dedicated to both the device and the speakers.
The power section uses proprietary Class-D technology with independent converters, designed to offer low noise, a linear frequency response from 20 Hz to 100 Hz. 20 kHz and a power output of 4 x 300 W on 8 ohms, 4 x 450 W on 4 ohms, or 2 x 900 W in bridge mode. The D-Drive 1.8k4-ae supports both low-impedance operation (4 / 8 ohms) and 70/100 V constant voltage output in bridge mode. In the latter case, the user can set the total load value with a precision of 0.1 ohm in the range 8 – 125 ohms, while the amplifier automatically adapts the power output to ensure operational safety and full compatibility with conference, commercial broadcast, and PA systems.
Control is via Webcon, an integrated web interface that offers simultaneous multi-user access, compatibility with any browser on PC, tablet, and smartphone, and a unified workflow for managing multiple devices. The platform allows real-time monitoring, level management, mute, device identification, GPIO configuration, IP wall panels, and the use of open APIs for integration with third-party systems. parts.
In terms of connectivity, the D-Drive 1.8k4-ae features analog, AES/EBU, and AES67 inputs, ensuring high flexibility for integration into network audio systems. Outputs are available on Euroblock and SpeakON NL4 connectors, while the front panel features a modern touch display, optimized for 1U rack mounting.
The cooling system uses a configurable thermally controlled fan, ensuring consistent performance even under harsh conditions. The universal 90 - 264 VAC power supply ensures full compatibility with any electrical network. System protection is provided by a complete set of intelligent functions: automatic inhibition of HF signals, protection against overvoltage, short circuit, overtemperature, and other critical conditions.
From a construction standpoint, it uses audiophile-grade components, including operational amplifiers, high-quality resistors and capacitors, and a German-made driver chip, to ensure clean and natural audio reproduction.
The D-Drive 1.8k4-ae therefore represents a new generation power amplifier, powerful, compact, and designed to seamlessly integrate into modern professional audio ecosystems. The combination of advanced DSP, high-efficiency amplification, native web control, and networking options makes it an ideal choice for installations requiring quality, reliability, and centralized management.
