MADRIX 5 is Windows-based control software for LED lighting and pixel mapping. Developed in Germany in 2005, it has received continuous updates through the latest 5.x release and combines two tools in one environment: a visual effects generator and an LED lighting controller. Its intuitive controls support projects of any size, allowing a complete LED light show to be produced from a standard computer or laptop while driving tens of thousands of LEDs without difficulty.

The software is intended for demanding applications in entertainment lighting, architectural lighting, building façades, television studios and productions, live performances, concerts, festivals, trade show booths, showrooms, cruise ships, service providers and rental companies. MADRIX 5 can manage LED installations and control nearly any 2D LED display in many possible ways, while also supporting real 3D LED applications. The MADRIX software and hardware range helps users exploit the capabilities of modern LED technology for complex lighting-control projects.

In addition to operating as an LED lighting controller, MADRIX 5 can be used as VJ software, a media server or a media creator. Integrated 2D pixel mapping, 3D voxel mapping, a graphics engine and a rendering engine make it possible to create fully customisable visual effects and display unique real-time effects on LEDs. VJs can use 3 real-time previews to check effects before playback.

The TRI effects category, with TRI meaning Trigger, adds another level of interactivity. Visuals can be activated through manual input, while audio playback can be used for videos. The software also imports a CSV fixture list; the CSV Import scene plays back 3.5x faster. The user interface includes 2 themes and is even easier to use. A powerful new 64-bit render engine provides high performance and speed, while CPU performance and memory calculation are up to 2 times faster than with MADRIX 5.4 or earlier versions.

MADRIX 5 includes 5 different effect categories and over 55 built-in effects. SCE effects require no sound and provide a broad selection of patterns and effects. The combination of advanced technologies, intuitive controls, graphics, rendering and mapping functions allows a complete LED show to be prepared quickly and lets the software adapt to the requirements of each LED project.
